Overview
Student code protection is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to student accounts by requiring a 4-digit code for access. This prevents unauthorized access to student accounts and helps maintain the integrity of the reward system.
Setting Up Student Code Protection
For Students:
- Access Your Account
- Log in using your class code at app.classroomhero.com/accounts/class-code/
- Select your name from the student list
- Configure Your Code
- Navigate to the Settings menu in your account
- Look for the security code section
- Enter a 4-digit numerical code
- Confirm your code by entering it again
- Using Your Code
- After setup, you'll need to enter your 4-digit code when selecting your name from the student selection screen
- Keep your code private and don't share it with other students
- Managing Student Codes
- You can reset a student's code if they forget it
- Access code reset through the student detail popup on the students list page
- Encourage students to keep their codes private
Best Practices
- For Teachers:
- Regularly remind students about the importance of keeping their codes private
- Reset codes promptly when students report forgetting them
- Use this as an opportunity to teach digital security practices
- For Students:
- Choose a code that's easy to remember but hard to guess
- Never share your code with classmates
- Tell your teacher immediately if you forget your code
